The committee of the Aberdeen Branch need your help to find out how we can change the services we offer to best suit your needs! Locally the Aberdeen Branch is here to provide information, support and practical help for people with MS and their families. As needs and circumstances vary, a range of services is offered so that people can choose what is right for them.
The knowledge that these services are readily accessible is in itself a support. The branch is run entirely by volunteers some of whom have MS.
We are keen to hear your thoughts on the Branch and what we do.
We always welcome any new ideas.
On the National level the MS Society exists to provide support for people with MS and to promote and fund research. The society is now one of the biggest funders of research into MS.
Fund-raising – the very word makes you shiver!
And yet it must be done. Every charity in Aberdeen and nationwide is thinking up new ideas for raising money. Have you any bright ideas for the Aberdeen Branch?
In one year, we must raise £140,000. Much of this comes from legacies and donations, and the flag days are always successful, but do YOU help?
Please think about this. We would be thrilled to hear from anyone who would be prepared to do something, original or otherwise. We can’t always depend on the Colin Campbells or David Dodds of this world!
Young Person’s Support Group
There is now a group running for those of us who feel ‘out of place’ at the regular social gatherings for people with MS and their friends / family.
Everyone who has dealings with MS can benefit from talking to others who can understand what is going on, without question, whether you are new to this or an ‘old hand’.
Everyone is welcome to come along and please feel free to bring someone with you.
